An overview and understanding of the city could go a long way in your overall enjoyment of your vacation.
There are several ways to accomplish this at varying costs.
– Free Tour – (although tips are appreciated) – www.bafreetour.com
– Bus Tour – Excellent overview of the city in a double-decker bus. Touristy? Yes, but as the bus circles the city, you’ll have the opportunity to get off at up to 20 stops. Another bus will come by each stop every 40 minutes. There is a very informative audio tour throughout (in many languages). We recommend avoiding bus transit during heavy traffic hours. The closest stop is seven blocks away at Quintana Ave. and Ayacucho st. – www.buenosairesbus.com
– Group Tours – Tour operators offer city tours (3 ½ hours), with a maximum of 10 people in a group in a minivan. It has 3 important stops: Recoleta Cemetery – Plaza de Mayo square – Caminito in La Boca.
– Private Tours – Individually tailored tours (by walking, by subway, by bus or by private car.) Tours can be anything from architectural tours, shopping tours, etc.
